AI receptionist and automation for Australian law firms

AI for Law Firms answers your phones in the firm's name, takes structured intake for the right solicitor and automates routine letters and email. It is set up around solicitors' duties of confidentiality and supervision, and it never gives legal advice.

Calls answered, day and night

An AI voice agent with an Australian voice picks up in business hours and, on the Professional plan, after hours and at weekends.

Intake ready for review

Each new enquiry arrives with the matter type, the other parties' names for your conflict check, key dates and urgency.

No advice, by design

The agent follows a written rule never to advise and passes every legal question to a solicitor.

You control the data

Your firm chooses what is kept, who receives each message and which providers process call data.

Where small law firms lose new enquiries

In a small practice the people who answer the phone are often the same people who are in court, in a mediation or with a client. A first call from someone who has never used a lawyer goes to voicemail, and that caller may ring another firm before anyone calls back.

After hours the gap is wider. Arrests, family violence and urgent family matters happen at any hour, and a firm that cannot be reached at night relies on the caller trying again in the morning. An AI agent answers those calls, collects what a solicitor needs to know and puts the urgent ones through to whoever is on call.

How it works

  1. Map your calls

We go through your call types, practice areas, urgent situations and who in the firm should hear about each one.

  2. Write the rules together

The greeting, AI and recording notice, intake questions, fee wording and transfer numbers go into one document your firm approves.

  3. Test with invented calls

Your staff ring the agent with made-up enquiries and check every message before a real caller hears it.

  4. Go live and adjust

Calls are forwarded to the agent, messages land in your intake mailbox, and the rules are refined as you read them in the first weeks.

Published pricing, month to month

Starter is $299 per month plus $499 setup for business hours, and Professional is $599 per month plus $999 setup with after hours and weekend coverage, all ex GST with no lock-in.

Frequently asked questions

Who answers the phone when a firm uses this service?

An AI voice agent with an Australian voice, working from call rules your firm has approved. There is no call centre behind it. When a call needs a person, the agent puts it through to whoever your rules name, or sends that person an SMS and lets the caller know what happens next.

Which practice areas is an AI receptionist suited to?

Areas with many first-time callers and predictable questions suit it best: family law, wills and estates, conveyancing, personal injury and employment. Criminal and family violence work can use it too, with short scripts and fast transfers to a solicitor, because those callers are often in crisis and need a person quickly.

Does it cover nights, weekends and public holidays?

Yes, on the Professional plan, which adds after hours and weekend coverage to the business hours cover in Starter. Firms that want 24 hour coverage with call recording and transcripts go on the Custom plan, which is quoted to suit the firm.

Can the agent book first consultations into our calendar?

On the Professional plan it can offer times from a connected Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace calendar and confirm the booking with the caller. You set the consultation length, which solicitors take first appointments and how much buffer to leave around court days.

What will the agent never do on a call?

It never gives legal advice, accepts a matter, quotes a fee your firm has not written down word for word, tells a caller whether they are out of time, or promises that a lawyer will attend a police station or court. Those decisions stay with a solicitor.

How is confidential client information protected?

The agent asks only for what is needed to route the call and run a conflict check, messages go only to named staff or a shared intake mailbox, and recordings are kept only if your firm chooses the Custom plan option. Yes AI's privacy policy says each project's service agreement should set out its data handling requirements, so ask for the providers that process call data, and their countries, in writing.

Is this suitable for a sole practitioner?

Often it is. A sole practitioner in court most mornings loses calls that a small plan can catch. The Starter plan covers business hours for firms of 1 to 5 staff with 500 minutes a month included, and the agent sends each message by email so nothing waits in a voicemail box.

How do we get started?

Send an enquiry through the quote form describing your phone set-up and the calls you miss. Yes AI sets up a demo agent using your firm's call types, you make test calls with invented details, and the written quote confirms the plan, setup work and timing before anything goes live.

Hear the agent handle your own call types

Tell us how your phones run now and which calls you miss. We will set up a demo with your firm's call types and send a written quote.
